The Email Alert settings in a FinOps environment work when a transaction is submitted to an Approval Stage with an Alert Setup configuration.
Due to the environment of FinOps all emails sent from FinOps are sent with the same 'From' email address.
Therefore it's hard to be 100% sure that the email received had been sent from your database, without looking into it further.
The first clue, would be - does the body of the email look consistent with recent email alerts you've received. Does the person signing off the email actually exist or work for your company.
IT may also need to add a SPF record on the SMTP see below
v=spf1 include:theaccessgroupSPF.smtp.com ?all
If you're certain the email has not been initiated by anyone processing or submitting a transaction in your Financials/FinOps Database, our support team will need to investigate, run scripts or liaise with the hosting or development teams.
