Manage users and give them report permissions

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The first thing you need in order to manage reports is a specific Security Profile Permission

The specific Security Profile Permission you need is called Set Report Permissions.

To assign or check the permission in FinOps Admin:

  1. In a Web browser navigate to the FinOps Admin Remote Gateway

  2. Log in to the Remote Gateway with your Hosting.Admin account

  3. Open FinOps Admin and log in to the application, choosing the correct SQL Database

  4. Click System Control, Security Profiles.

  5. Select your desired profile.

  6. Click Edit

  7. On the Security tab, on the left, select System Control.

  8. On the right, Enable or Disable the Set Report Permission.
Note: Assigning permissions to a profile affects all users in this profile.

  9. When you are happy with any changes click OK

  10. Ask users to completely sign out of FinOps and Workspace in order for these changes to take affect.

Once you have established a user or amended your own user to have these specific permissions, in FinOps itself you can then access the following to manage reports permissions:

  1. Click System, Reporting Permission.

  2. Click a group of reports e.g. Reports, Contract Management Reports, etc.

  3. Either select:

    • By Security Profile - updating permissions for an entire group of users

    • By User - updating permissions for a set individual

  4. Select your Profile or User.

  5. On the toolbar, click Permissions.

  6. Locate the report(s) and either Grant (tick) or Deny (untick) permissions to the report(s).

  7. Click Save to complete the changes.
