When FinOps sends approval workflow alerts or Purchase Order notifications, it uses the email address stored on each user's FinOps record. If this email address is missing or has not synchronised correctly from Financials, alerts fail to send and errors such as 'Could Not Determine Recipient Address' or 'no email address configured for recipient name' may appear.
Check and update the user's email address in Financials
The email address used by FinOps comes from the user's record in Financials. Check it there first:
In Financials, go to System, then Security, then Users.
Locate the affected user and open their record.
Check whether an email address is populated. If it is missing or incorrect, update it with the right address.
Save the record.
Once updated in Financials, FinOps should use the corrected email address for future alerts and notifications.
Note: Although the FinOps Administrator tool shows each user's email address, this field is read-only and cannot be edited there. Changes must be made through Financials at System, Security, Users.
If the email address is correct in Financials but errors persist
If the user's email address is correctly set in Financials but FinOps continues to show errors or fail to send alerts, the email may not have synchronised to the FinOps user record. Contact the support team and provide:
The name and email address of the affected user.
The form, approval stage, or workflow where the error occurs.
The exact error message shown (for example, 'Could Not Determine Recipient Address' or 'no email address configured for recipient name').
