Error - 'Focalpoint.Approval.NLevel.ApprovalException: EvaluateRule: Error evaluating SignOffLimit'

The error is often linked to the user's department which is set in the User Records area of Financials. In the first instance please check that the user is assigned to a department and you can do this as follows:

  1. Within Financials, go to the System area, expand Security, and then select Users.

  2. Find the user and select the Links tab.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. To add or amend the Department, click Setup. You may also need to set one of the departments as a Default. To do this select the check box next to the required Department.

  5. Once happy with the setting, click the Save button to confirm the changes.

In addition to setting the user's department and default, you may have to assign a PIR Sign Off Value Ceiling as follows:

  1. Log into FinOps administrator.

  2. In the relevant dataset, go to System Control, Security Profiles.

  3. Select the user's profile and click Members.

  4. Locate the relevant user, click the Details tab and in the PIR Sign Off Value Ceiling field, type the appropriate value.

  5. Click OK to save the changes.
