This error is caused by a text field on the record containing angled brackets (either '<' or '>'). To resolve this:
Edit the record and look through the Text field(s) which contain an angled bracket.
Remove the angled brackets from the Text field(s).
After removing the <angled brackets> you should no longer receive this error.
